GENERAL
Biography
Óscar Humberto Mejía Blanco (Bucaramanga, 1985) is a writer and university professor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Literature from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) and a Master’s degree in Literature from the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá. He was one of the winners of the “IV National Short Story Contest Colombia Cuenta,” organized by RCN and the Ministry of National Education of Colombia. Some of his short stories have been published in the anthologies “Líneas de sombra” (Shadow Lines) 2010, “Suenan Voces” (Voices Sound) 2010, and “Ruidos en el techo” (Ceiling Noises) 2012, as well as in Revista (Colombia), Revista Santander (Colombia), Contrapunto (Spain), and Buensalvaje (Colombia). In 2014, he won the Ministry of Culture’s Literary Pieces Contest in the “Best Workshop Director Short Story” category. Today, he works as a Literature professor at UIS and directed the creative writing workshop for the Relata-UIS network.
