GENERAL
Biography
Dr. Chaves-Guerrero’s research is focused on the characterization of the flow behavior of magnetic nanoparticle suspensions, specifically focusing on ferrofluids, under the influence of time-varying magnetic fields. The studies have primarily aimed at obtaining both analytical and numerical solutions for the flux field, thereby shedding light on the diffusion of internal angular momentum and antisymmetric stresses as potential contributors to the generation of flux. Additionally, he has conducted investigations on the magnetorheological evaluation of mixtures containing crude oil, ferrofluids, and magnetic emulsions, with the incorporation of glue to enhance energetically efficient fluid transport.

Currently, Dr. Chaves-Guerrero serves as the coordinator of the Laboratory of Rheology and Complex Fluid Dynamics, located at the Technological Part of Guatiguará within the Universidad Industrial de Santander. This advanced laboratory is equipped with the necessary infrastructure for conducting rheological and magnetorheological evaluations of complex fluids. Furthermore, ongoing efforts are focused on establishing a laboratory-scale flow system that enables the study of magnetic suspensions under various types of time-varying magnetic fields. Through these initiatives, Dr. Chaves-Guerrero and his team are making significant contributions to the understanding of complex fluid dynamics and the manipulation of magnetic suspensions for diverse applications.
