GENERAL
Biography
Fabio Martínez Carrillo is a full-time professor at the Universidad Industrial de Santander and the director of the research group BIVL2ab – Biomedical Imaging, Vision and Learning Laboratory. In the past, he conducted a postdoctoral research project in collaboration with U2IS (ENSTA-ParisTech) – LIMSI-CNRS (Université Paris-Sud) at Université de Paris-Saclay. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from UNAL, where he worked with the CIM@LAB – Laboratory and BioIngenium Research Group. Additionally, he has collaborated with the Laboratoire du Traitement du Signal et de l’Image, Université de Rennes 1 in Rennes, France, and the Laboratoire d’Electronique et Informatique, ENSTA-ParisTech in Paris, France.
His current primary interests are in machine learning, deep representations, artificial intelligence, medical image analysis, computer vision, and motion models for action recognition.
