GENERAL
Biography
Civil Engineer with Cum Laude honors, recognized for his academic excellence in both his undergraduate studies at the Industrial University of Santander and his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. His advanced and specialized training in structural engineering has equipped him with high-level technical skills in the analysis, design, and modeling of complex structures.
He currently serves as a full-time professor at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), where he combines teaching with administrative duties as Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Civil Engineering, Coordinator of the Specialization in Structures at the Bucaramanga and Bogotá campuses, and Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Structural Engineering. He also leads the Construction Materials and Structures Research Group (INME).

Under his leadership, this group has developed high-impact projects focused on material innovation and advanced structural behavior analysis, significantly contributing to the advancement of civil engineering. His work aims to optimize the strength, durability, and sustainability of infrastructure, address current construction challenges with advanced technological solutions, and promote research that enhances the structural performance of buildings and civil works. He fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships with companies and academic institutions, furthering applied research.
