Biography
Professor Andrés Camilo García Castro is an outstanding academic with a solid background in physics and materials. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Université de Liège and another in Materials from the Centro de Investigaciones y de Estudios Avanzados of the IPN, as well as a Master of Science with a specialization in Materials from the same institution. His academic career began with a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira.
As part of his active involvement in the academic community, Professor García Castro is a member of two relevant research groups: the Biological and Semiconductor Materials Science Group (CIMBIOS) and the Condensed Matter Computational Physics Group (FICOMACO). His research focuses on several areas, including magnetoelectric and multifunctional systems, simulation and modeling of magnetic nanomaterials, magnetism of new materials, as well as the study of thin films and first-principles calculations.
