GENERAL
Biography
Professor Brenda Escobar Guzmán is a highly distinguished history professor with extensive experience at various universities in Bogotá. Moreover, she boasts an outstanding career as a researcher, particularly in projects related to cultural heritage and land use planning in the city.
Since 2016, she has been associated with the School of History at the prestigious Universidad Industrial de Santander, where she serves as a respected professor and accomplished researcher. Her research has primarily focused on examining the formation of the Colombian nation-state during the nineteenth century, with a particular emphasis on civil conflicts as crucial turning points for traditionally excluded groups seeking political representation.
