GENERAL
Biography
Claudia Inés Granados Pinzón is a tenured Professor in the School of Mathematics at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS). She completed her undergraduate studies in Mathematics at UIS between the years 1994 and 1998. She worked as a part-time lecturer for three years in the School of Mathematics. From 2002 to 2004, she received a Teaching Assistantship at Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia) to pursue a Master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences. Between 2005 and 2006, she worked as a part-time lecturer at three prestigious universities in Cali: Universidad del Valle, Universidad ICESI, and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali.

She was appointed as a Career Professor at UIS on March 9, 2007, and she currently holds the highest rank in the teaching career ladder as a Full Professor. Between 2010 and 2014, she received study commissions from UIS to pursue a Master’s degree in Research in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Universidad de Valladolid (Valladolid, Spain). Her doctoral thesis titled “Finite Algebras over a Field. The Projective Line” received the distinction: “Sobresaliente Cum Laude.”
She is a member of ALCOM research group since 2020 and GIM-UIS group since 2010. She has participated in three research projects during the period 2019-2024, affiliated with the Vice-rectorate of Research and Extension. She has published research articles in national and international journals on topics related to Algebra and Algebraic Geometry.
