GENERAL

Biography

A Nutritionist and Dietitian, he graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2007, commencing his teaching career in 2008 as a professor at Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina. In 2010, he completed a Master’s in Biochemical Sciences at Universidad Nacional, focusing on the study of gene expression and regulation of neuropeptides related to body homeostasis.

Subsequently, he relocated to Bucaramanga to continue his academic journey as a teacher at the School of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Universidad Industrial de Santander. In 2015, he embarked on a PhD program in Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition at the Universidad de las Islas Baleares, Spain.

Upon his return to Colombia, he has actively participated in various research projects, concentrating on the study of bioactive compounds and the development of functional foods for managing obesity and type 2 diabetes. Currently, in collaboration with Professors Natalia Roció Moreno Castellanos and Martha Lucia Silva Mora, he co-coordinates the research seedbed in Functional Foods, with a focus on nutritional genomics and its applications in the field of health.
