GENERAL

Biography

University professor and social researcher. Her research interests focus on the analysis of socio-environmental interactions that generate risks and vulnerabilities, as well as the relationships that favor social welfare and nature conservation. She has worked as a social worker in family welfare, education and environmental protection institutions. She has participated in interdisciplinary research and intervention teams in the area of child and adolescent protection, health promotion, land use planning, sustainable human development, environmental management, and soil and water conservation in Páramo de Berlin (Complejo Santurbán, Santander).

She has experience in the study of precarious informal settlements and their forms of intervention in Colombia and Spain. She was editor of the UIS-Humanities Journal between 2009 and 2012. She is currently the director of the Regional Observatory for Sustainable Human Development (ORDHS).
