GENERAL

Biography

Dr. Carlos Becerra has been a professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics since 1996. In 2001, he underwent training in endoscopic fetal surgery and, upon his return, along with other specialists linked to the institution, developed the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at Hospital Universitario de Santander, introducing fetal surgery in Colombia. In addition to his participation in the training of undergraduate and graduate students, he has been involved in research activities related to twin gestation, perinatal infection, and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. He recently entered the doctoral program in Biomedical Sciences at Universidad Industrial de Santander, focusing his research on the early prediction of preterm birth.
