GENERAL
Biography
He is currently the Coordinator of the Specialization in Gas Engineering and is also responsible for coordinating postgraduate programs. As a researcher, he applies molecular dynamics in studying the precipitation of petroleum organics, such as paraffins and asphaltenes. From 2005 to 2009, he held the position of Director of the National Lithotheque (ANH). He also served as the Engineering Coordinator for the drilling of 10 slim hole stratigraphic wells in the Cauca-Patia Basin, conducted by the School of Petroleum Engineering between 2010 and 2011 for the ANH.

Throughout his career, he has successfully supervised over 130 research theses at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and has served on the board of directors for the Northeast section of the SPE from 2017 to 2022. Additionally, he contributes as a peer reviewer for prestigious scientific journals, including Energy & Fuels, Fuel, ACS OMEGA PUBLICATIONS, Fuentes, El Reventón Energético, Petroleum Science and Technology, and Revista politécnica del Ecuador. Moreover, he serves as a project evaluator for Minciencias (Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation).
