GENERAL

Biography

Professor Fredy Avellaneda holds a Ph.D. in Chemical, Environmental, and Process Engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidad Rovira i Virgili. He is a Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional and is affiliated with the INTERFASE group. With a strong dedication to environmental sustainability, Professor Avellaneda utilizes his national scientific expertise to address environmental challenges in a sustainable manner, capitalizing on the unique opportunities each region offers. By valorizing resources, he aims to improve the quality of life for workers throughout the production chain. His research primarily focuses on the production of biodiesel, biolubricants, and value-added products derived from biomass or industrial waste. Currently, Professor Avellaneda serves as a professor, teaching courses such as Fluid and Solid Management, process laboratories, and research seminars. In the past, he has also taught subjects including Process Analysis, Stoichiometry, and Introduction to Chemical Engineering.
