GENERAL

Biography

Professor Becerra-Ardila is a highly accomplished tenured professor at the School of Industrial and Business Studies at Universidad Industrial de Santander. With expertise in both undergraduate and graduate courses, his teaching focuses on technology and knowledge management. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he actively contributes to the development of public policies and commissions, representing the UIS externally and engaging in projects that promote opportunities for the university community. Professor Becerra-Ardila serves as the Director of the SUMA network, overseeing project implementation, network events, and collaborating on the creation of scientific outreach initiatives.

Moreover, he plays a significant role in representing the UIS in the Agroindustrial Innovation System MIA and serves as a member of the Administrative Scientific Committee of the Innovation Center within the Center for Scientific and Technological Research Life, Health, and Welfare. As the Director of the Research Group in Technological Innovation and Knowledge Management, known as INNOTEC, he leads research activities in this field. Professor Becerra-Ardila has also been involved in noteworthy projects, including the analysis of key competitiveness factors for the construction of an intelligent territory model in the Caribbean and Santanderes region, the design of a collaborative work model in the agricultural sector for the development of Agropolis in Santander – Magdalena Medio, and the Ibero-American Network for Cooperation and Strengthening of Incubators of technology-based companies associated with Universities and Science and Technology Parks, known as the IBERINCU Network.
His expertise and contributions extend to projects such as GEFIES, which focuses on knowledge management for best practices in administrative and financial management in higher education institutions. Furthermore, he has been involved in the development of an instrumental model for research management policy at the Universidad Industrial de Santander UIS, based on the systematization of research experiences carried out by the university. This project was included in the larger initiative of evaluating the impact of research, development, and innovation projects funded by Colciencias in the region during the period of 1999-2005.
Professor Becerra-Ardila’s extensive research output includes 11 books, 29 publications (gray literature and other non-certified products, dissemination products), and 4 published articles. These accomplishments are a testament to his dedication and significant contributions to the academic and research community.
