GENERAL

Biography

Dr. Ballesteros is an esteemed tenured professor in the School of Chemical Engineering, specializing in the fields of nanotechnology, transport phenomena, chemical process control, and process laboratory. With over 8 years of experience in these areas, she has established herself as a leading expert. Moreover, Professor Ballesteros holds the position of Senior Researcher at the Ministerio de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovación and is an esteemed member of the Centro de Investigación en Catálisis (CICAT) group. Her research primarily revolves around the assembly of organic molecules using the Langmuir-Blodgett technique and Self-Assembly. The ultimate goal of her research is to fabricate ultrathin films for applications in molecular electronics and medical fields.

In the field of catalysis, Professor Ballesteros has specialized in the valorization of catalysts and processes, particularly for the petrochemical industry and the disinfection of water contaminated with microorganisms. Her contributions to the field include the publication of over 30 articles in high-impact journals and the successful acquisition of two granted patents.
