GENERAL
Biography
Mario García González is a geologist from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, with postgraduate studies at the master’s level doctorate at the University of Wyoming in the United States and postdoctoral studies in the area of organic geochemistry applied to the exploration of hydrocarbons. The research interests are with the evaluation of sedimentary basins, reconstruction of the geothermal history of basins, determination of the degree of thermal maturity of kerogen in basins, study of methane gas deposits associated with coal mantles, studies of gas deposits in shales and limestones, study of diapirs and mud volcanoes and their origin and evolution, study of gas hydrates, study of thermal waters and their potential in Lithium and other strategic elements. Evaluation of oil and gas resources and reserves in basins and prospects. Oil generation potential from bituminous coals and migration mechanisms.
