Biography
Dr. Ramirez is an esteemed tenured professor at the School of Chemical Engineering, holding the distinguished position of Senior Researcher-Colciencias. He serves as the Director of the Polymer research group and is a valuable member of the catalysis research group. His research interests primarily focus on the synthesis and characterization of polymers derived from bio-based raw materials, with applications spanning various industries, including additives for asphalts, cement, and hydrogels, among others. Additionally, Dr. Ramirez’s expertise extends to the synthesis and characterization of metal-organic structures, specifically for gas capture and catalytic applications. In the realm of extension activities, he actively engages with the industry by providing training to professionals and offering consultancies related to process safety, thereby supporting the industry’s needs and ensuring their operational well-being.
