GENERAL

Biography

Professor Mario Negrette directs and actively participates in undergraduate courses at the School of Health, the Master’s program in Basic Biomedical Sciences, and the Ph.D. program in Biomedical Sciences. In addition, he oversees the training of master’s and doctoral students. One of his primary research focuses is enhancing the effectiveness and safety of chemotherapy for patients through the utilization of combination strategies involving bioactive molecules. These strategies aim to achieve a higher therapeutic index. This research entails the investigation of reprogramming mechanisms related to metabolism and cellular redox homeostasis, which sensitize the treatment target and/or protect other tissues from adverse toxic effects.
