GENERAL
Biography
Associate Professor of Linguistics in the Bachelor of Foreign Languages with an Emphasis in English and Bachelor of Literature and Spanish Language programs; Master’s in Language Didactics, School of Languages. As a linguist, I am interested in topics related to spoken Spanish, its variations—especially within the regional context—and the ways in which speakers have constructed certain representations that play a crucial role in shaping Colombian nationality. I also explore the political dimension of normative prescriptions of the Spanish language in Colombia. In my teaching, I integrate my research interests into the training of future language teachers, and I teach courses on Spanish grammar and its didactic transposition for the native language classroom.
