Biography
Professor López-Contreras is an esteemed tenured professor at the School of Chemical Engineering, bringing with her over 12 years of valuable industry experience in formulating and managing R&D&I projects within the hydrocarbon sector. Notably, she has conducted a postdoctoral research program focusing on the development of carbon nanomaterials based on graphene and graphene oxide derived from by-products of the refining process. Her expertise lies at the intersection of chemical engineering and nanomaterials, contributing to advancements in the utilization and valorization of refinery waste for sustainable materials development.
