GENERAL
Biography
Professor Francisco José Martínez Pérez’s research focuses on the properties of nucleic acids and their relationship with the regulation of gene expression in cellular communication, with a primary emphasis on the brain, mechanisms of environmental perception, the gut-brain axis, and virus-cell interactions. To achieve this, molecular evolutionary models are developed to design Genetic Engineering tools, which are then applied to the molecular diagnosis of genetic, microbial, or viral diseases in humans, animals, and plants. Additionally, his research delves into the planning of conservation designs and the sustainable management of natural resources.
