GENERAL
Biography
Clara Inés Sánchez Suárez is a Bacteriologist and Clinical Laboratorian, with a Master’s in Microbiology and a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. She serves as a professor at the Universidad Industrial de Santander and is a member of the CEIAM and CODEIM groups, categorized as A1 by MinCiencias. Her expertise includes the study of nanoparticles for Candida control, as well as the isolation and identification of fungi in clinical, plant, and animal samples.
Read moreRecently, Dr. Sánchez-Suárez has conducted research on zinc metallochaperones in the Aspergillus fumigatus model, employing experimental strategies based on molecular biology.
Currently, she is the main researcher of the project “Development of a personalized medicine strategy for the preventive management, diagnosis, and treatment of candidiasis in adult Intensive Care Units in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga”, funded by MinCiencias.
