GENERAL
Biography
Viviana Raquel Güiza Argüello is a chemical engineer at UIS, since 2017 she has worked as a professor at the School of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. Her scientific training was developed in the United States for about 7 years, during which she obtained his PhD degree from Texas A&M University, in the area of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
She also did a postdoc at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York), where she later worked as a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. During her time at UIS, Professor Viviana has actively worked on projects focused on the development of polymeric materials for biomedical and environmental applications. Currently, she is interested in applying computer-aided design and computational fluid dynamics to the study and fabrication of such materials. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and ecotourism.
