GENERAL
Biography
John William Vásquez Capacho is a Senior Researcher and Evaluator for Minciencias, specializing in the field of electronics. He is a dynamic and innovative individual with strong research and knowledge management skills, who is passionate about fostering collaboration between universities, companies and government agencies to drive innovation. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes and the University of Toulouse/France. He also holds a Master’s degree in Automation from the Politecnico de Valencia, Spain. He is an Electronics Engineer from the Universidad del Valle and an Electronics Technologist from the Unidades Tecnológicas de Santander.
He is an expert in fault diagnosis and safety in industrial processes and boasts 20 years of experience in both the industrial and academic sectors, where he has designed and implemented R&D projects in fields such as mechatronics, industrial automation, control, and robotics. In 2016, he received the Colombian Innovation Award from ECOPETROL – INNPULSA.
