Biography
Dr. Buitrago has conducted extensive research on various topics, including: 1) risk factors associated with anterior cruciate ligament injuries among Colombian athletes, 2) the Insertion/Deletion polymorphism of the ACE gene in Colombian elite athletes participating in endurance sports, and 3) the physical condition and body composition of university students. Additionally, he is the esteemed author of the book titled Enseñanza del Tenis de Base (Teaching Grassroots Tennis), which serves as a comprehensive methodological guide for coaches working in developmental sports.

With a wealth of teaching experience in higher education, he has contributed his expertise to the Professional Program in Sports Science, the Specialization in Sports Training, and the Master’s in Sports Science. Furthermore, he has served as a valuable advisor in the preparation and training of high-performance athletes, specifically as a Combat Sports Methodologist. Through his diverse research, teaching, and advisory roles, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing knowledge and promoting excellence in the field of sports.
