Description
Research professor affiliated with the School of Industrial Design at UIS. Specialist in materials and industrial processes, with an emphasis on ceramics. His research focuses on the development of new applications for traditional ceramic materials and the sustainable management of industrial waste. In this field, he stands out for creating a chemically reactive ceramic made from steel mill slag and phosphates, currently used in the production of eco-friendly bricks. He holds degrees in Industrial Engineering and Industrial Design, a Master’s in Environmental Management, and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering, with additional training in the design and production of handcrafted ceramic products.

He has received academic recognitions, including the design of the Boyacá tourist train and a doctoral training scholarship awarded by the Government of Boyacá. His university teaching experience in the technological and materials field includes institutions such as UPTC, SENA, and UIS. In addition, he has worked in the metalworking and woodworking sectors, where he has strengthened his expertise in various techniques and technologies related to materials handling. He possesses extensive experience in prototyping and CNC machining and is known for his leadership and teamwork skills.
Among his main achievements is the development of an innovative ceramic material from slag, a result of his doctoral research. His research career includes an international internship at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, as well as multiple publications in indexed scientific journals.
