Description
Tenured Distinguished Professor, affiliated with the School of Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering at the Industrial University of Santander. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, Spain, and is a Specialist in University Teaching as well as an Electrical Engineer from the Industrial University of Santander.
He received the “Apto Cum Laude” distinction for his doctoral degree and has excelled in supervising Ph.D. dissertations, leading research projects supported by COLCIENCIAS, contributing to renowned journals such as IEEE, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, and CHEMICAL ENGINEERING TRANSACTIONS, and serving as a speaker at international conferences.

He is an active member of ACIEM and has held various leadership positions in university administration and research. Since 2016, he has served as the Administrative Vice Rector of the Industrial University of Santander, after previously serving as Dean of the School of Physicomechanical Engineering, School Director, and Director of Research for the same faculty. He also served as Head of the National Energy and Mining Research Program at Colciencias, and has led outreach projects for companies and government entities in the electrical sector.
He possesses strong academic and administrative skills, along with a deep commitment to the continuous improvement of higher education, research, and outreach. His research focuses on the planning of electric power transmission networks, as well as the modeling and operation of electric power systems.
