GENERAL
Biography
Jairo René Martínez holds the position of full-time professor at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, affiliated with the School of Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences since 1983. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Universidad Industrial de Santander. In the United States, he earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and conducted four years of postdoctoral work at the State University of New York in Stony Brook. Jairo René Martínez’s area of expertise is related to physical chemistry, with a research focus on the application of circular economy strategies in the production chain of essential oils and their derivatives.
