He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science from Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Bucaramanga, Colombia, obtained in 2017 and 2021, respectively. He completed postdoctoral appointments at UIS between 2021 and 2023. He has been a Young Researcher funded by Minciencias and received the Eloy Valenzuela Award for Consolidated Researcher in 2022 from UIS. He has made scientific contributions in the field of computational imaging, with emphasis on inverse problems, computational optics, spectral and high dynamic range image acquisition, binary neural networks, and deep learning methods. He has published in high-impact indexed journals such as IEEE Transactions on Computational Imaging, Applied Optics, Optica, and Signal Processing, as well as in renowned conferences including CVPR, ECCV, ICASSP, and EUSIPCO. His recent research focuses on advanced optical coding techniques, unsupervised learning, and the design of computational cameras.
