Description
Professor Laura Vargas holds a Civil Engineering degree, Cum Laude. Her research integrates experimental testing and advanced numerical modeling to analyze the seismic behavior of masonry structures, strengthening strategies, and the dynamic characterization of structures through ambient vibration testing.
She has participated as a researcher in projects funded by Chile’s National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) and as a visiting researcher at Brunel University London. She has also contributed to post-earthquake reconnaissance initiatives through the Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance (StEER) Network.
