General
Description
Composer, researcher, and music educator. His research has focused on the study of the creative process, musical material, and the ontology of music from a perspective that integrates research-creation and the philosophy of music. His pedagogical work has concentrated on theoretical and practical areas such as solfège, harmony, counterpoint, music appreciation, analysis, and the philosophy of music. His compositions have been performed in Colombia, Mexico, the United States, Argentina, Switzerland, and France by prestigious musical ensembles such as CEPROMUSIC Ensemble, the Colombian Symphony Orchestra, and Alquimia Ensemble.
He has been a two-time winner of the National Composition Competition organized by the Caldas Symphony Orchestra. Part of his work is currently published by Cayambis Music Press in the United States.

Hernández has participated in various artistic and academic activities such as the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy 2014 – Composition Academy in Virginia, United States; the International Music Series Laberintos Sonoros 2017 (Mexico); the 39th International Forum of New Music Manuel Enríquez (Mexico); and both editions of the MUXIC project (a Sorbonne–UNAM collaboration) for research and music creation with new technologies (Paris 2018, Mexico City 2019).
His album Y todo aquello unido era el mundo (2021), which features a selection of acoustic and electroacoustic works from recent years, is currently available on digital platforms. Also available is the album Unlived Memories by T-Zero, an improvisation and experimental music group he co-founded and remains an active member of.
