He is currently a full-time professor at the School of Physiotherapy, where he coordinates the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Area. He also has teaching experience in basic sciences across other health science programs and has served as a visiting professor in postgraduate programs and diplomas on critical care and mechanical ventilation at the national level.

His research work encompasses human physiology, cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, mechanical ventilation, and morphological studies using cadaveric specimens. He has supervised undergraduate research projects in physiotherapy programs and led experimental studies in animal models of metabolic syndrome, whose findings have been published in indexed journals.

In his academic output, he has published more than ten articles in high-impact international journals and has contributed to book chapters, including one in Aerosolterapia en Ventilación Mecánica (Aerosol Therapy in Mechanical Ventilation) with the chapter titled Soporte respiratorio básico y avanzado (Basic and Advanced Respiratory Support) (2022). He has participated as a speaker at national and international conferences in the fields of physiology, cardiology, and intensive care, and is an active member of scientific societies such as AMCI and ASCOFI.
